Heather Perkins, Cheerleading Coach

Heather has been a cheer coach for nearly 2 decades. Prior to her coaching debut, she was a school cheerleader herself, holding many awards and titles.   She has an established Varsity and JV program at Eastern Greene High School. Heather is focused on the spirit of cheerleading, as well as correct and safe instruction of stunting and tumbling…and producing traditional, talented routines. She has been a huge part of our all star competition hair and makeup needs during team travel.  Heather and her husband have 2 daughters, Brynlee and Baylee, who is active and involved in cheer and dance as well.

 

Steven Stancombe, Clogging Instructor

Steven has over 18 years of clogging experience. His background includes Pride & Joy Clogging and working under the direction of Scott Dobson.  He has won numerous awards in competitive clogging, and has an extensive background in judging. Precision-style clogging is Steven’s specialty.   He is very excited about developing our studio's clogging program! He will be instructing the classes as a non-competitive program with emphasis on fun and public (local) performance.   He welcomes cloggers of all ages….even adults!  Steven and his lovely wife Sarah are recent newly weds! 

 

Kierstyn Taylor, Instructor and Event Staff

Kierstyn has 13 years of studio dance, 6 years of acting and singing, and is AFTRA affiliated.  Her training includes working with Adechike Torbert from SYTYCD, Howard Meltzer (Casting Director for Disney's Hannah Montana), Lori Knight... agent and manager, and Cosby Show acting coach Bob Luke.  She is currently a college sophomore. Kierstyn will be assisting with preschool classes.

 

 

Courtney Oakley, Instructor

 

Courtney is from Lafayette and is currently a junior at IU.  She is majoring in biology with a dance minor, and plans to attend optometry school upon graduation.  She began dancing in 5th grade and began teaching dance after high school graduation.  Courtney was on Dance Distinction Dance Co and the McCutcheon Varsity Dance team all 4 years of high school- where her teams held several IHSDTA State titles. Courtney will be leading our Prep Team jazz class.

 

 

 

Shelby May, Instructor and Mini Coach

Shelby began dancing at the studio in 2001, and has an extensive 11 year background in pom, jazz, hip hop, tap, cheer, and clogging. She has been involved in competitive dance for 7 years.  Shelby is a student at BHSN. Shelby will be overseeing our KickStart Preschool Program and coaches our Mini Allstars.

 

 

Nicole Hudson, Assistant Cheer Instructor

Nicole has a 7-year background of cheer and tumble. She is a cheerleader for Eastern Greene High School.  She carries a 4.3 weighted GPA and is second in her 2014 class. Nicole was the recipient of the Leadership Award in Cheer for 2011-2012. Nicole plans to attend college to become an anesthesiologist. 

 

 

 

Jamie Maxwell, Event Staff, Tiny Coach

Jamie has a background in cheer, tumble, and dance from her childhood. Jamie was a member of her highschool's dance team at BHSN. She spends her days teaching preschool at a local daycare center.  Jamie will be working with our studio staff at various local events such as festivals and fairs.  Look for Jamie with all the latest visual marketing at events around town!  Jamie will be coaching the Tiny Division All Stars this fall.

 

 

 

Michael Roach, Instructor

Michael Is an English Major at Indiana University  and president of the IU Break Dance Club. He has 8 years of competitive and recreational experience in street hip hop and breaking. He has been placed in the finals of the International Competition BTL9,  featured in the Super Bowl Village, and participated in "So You Think You Can Dance" seasons 8 and 9. Michael is passionate about the style, instruction, and culture of hip hop dancing. He plans to move to California upon graduation to pursue a professional dance career.

 

 

 Kimmie Greiner, Event Staff

Kimmie has been dancing at the studio from our opening day in 2001.  She has grown up with training in tap, jazz, hip hop, and poms.  Kimmie is a student at BHSS and dances for both  All-Star and Rec Studio Programs.  You will see Kimmie at local events, as well as events in the studio such as birthday parties.

 

Kristi Brown, Owner, Director

Kristi began dancing at age 4. She grew up at the Dance Center and the Dance Company. Kristi grew up in the studio, and later joined her school dance teams at BMS and BHSS.  She was captain 2 years as a South Pom, and earned numerous awards.  Kristi traveled the mid west area as a UDA Instructor, teaching camps and judging competitions.  Kristi coached the dance teams at Edgewood Middle and High Schools for 3 years, and then she opened the studio in 2001.  Kristi coached the dance team at BHSN for 4 years, and served as an Advisor to the Hoosier Dance Team for 2 years.   She has a 8 year old son, Kyle.  Kristi and her husband Aaron married in October and are expecting a baby boy this spring!
